Saturday was week six of my exercise routine. So far so good. I've only missed one day of exercise(my b-day). I have been feeling pretty good. I've only lost 5 pounds so far, but I'm trying not to focus on that. I feel a lot better, and that is more important.
The past two weeks I've been doing a favor for a friend who just had a baby. She does daycare, and asked me if I would take over for a couple of weeks so she could have a break when she had her baby. I told her I would because we could use the extra money. I had to watch a 4 year-old girl and a 6 year-old girl (sisters). It wasn't too bad. The 6 year-old was at school until 3:40. I did have to take the 4 year-old to preschool 3 times a week, and pick up the 6 year-old from the bus stop. I think the hardest part was when everybody got home from school. It seemed like a crazy house. The two girls I was watching love to tattle. So, every 10 minutes one of them would be running to tell on someone. It was nice to get some extra money, but I was glad when it was over. Today is Hallowen. We finally have all the costume stuff ready. Claire is going to be Snow White. Jake is going to be a ninja. Elise is going to be a mime. I am the most excited about the mime costume. It's the closest one to being home made. When I have pictures I'll post them. I have been in a book reading slump lately. I just haven't felt like reading. I hope I get over this soon. I have way to many unread books in my bookcase. I can't wait till Friday. Ben and I are going to see one of our favortie bands, The Beautiful South. I've seen them twice before, and they are really great live. They are from England. I love english accents. Happy Halloween! Random Thoughts of The Day:
Today is my birthday. I've decided I don't like birthdays. Who wants to be a year older? This morning my mother-in-law treated me to breakfast while Claire was at her play group. We ate at Bob Evans. I ordered biscuits and sausage gravy. It was good. Other than that, and a few birthday phone calls and emails, it's been a pretty normal day. Kids are driving me crazy. Ben's out of town, which makes it a little harder. I think when he gets back, I'll lock myself in the bathroom for a few days to get some peace and quiet. We are attempting another open house this Saturday. All this house business just feels pointless. I just wish something would happen. At least I'm not thirty yet. I can still say I'm in my twenties. That's something. Oh yeah, I skipped exercising today. It was my birthday present to myself. Life is good. Grey's Anatomy is on tonight. Happy Columbus Day. Friday, October 6. 2006
Tommorrow will be day 18 of exercising. I haven't given up yet, which is surprising. For the first two weeks, I avoided the scale. I was worried if I weighed myself and I hadn't lost any weight, I may get depressed and give up. Unfortunetly, I did end up weighing myself and I hadn't lost any weight. So, my new rule is: No weighing myself until a month has past.
I've got 72 days left to go. So far so good. Hopefully I won't get sick anytime soon. Oh yeah, push ups are still evil. The lunges and squats don't hurt as much as they did at first. I just have absolutely no upper body strength. I have had a lot more energy since exercising. I hope I can keep this up. |
