Exercise

For the past 2 years I have been going to a church sponsered aerobics group. It's been 3 days a week. I don't always go every day, but more often than not, I do. We have a lady (a ward member) who used to be an aerobics instructor, teaching the class. She is about 6 months pregnant. Needless to say, our classes have become less vigorous. I think we all have lost our excitement for exercising. (At least our instructor has a reason :-))

For the past few weeks I've been wanting to start walking in the mornings, before Ben goes to work. Today I finally did it. I'm hoping I'll be able to work up to an hour a day. Today I did 40 minutes. I'd like to do it Monday-Saturday, and still attend aerobics as well. That may be a little over zealous of me, but we'll see.

I really enjoyed my walk this morning. I like being able to exercise without kids interrupting every 5 minutes. I took my mp3 player. It's nice to be able to enjoy listening to my music. Usually the only time I get to listen to music, is when I drive the kids around. That isn't the same as being by yourself and listening to music. Also, our neighborhood has pretty nice paths to walk on, and it's pretty shady. I hope I can keep this up.

Good for you, Cindi. Sounds like you've been doing really good going to aerobics and now walking. Are you not experience the heat wave that's hitting so much of the nation? I can't stand to be outside right now it's so hot. That family reunion is coming up pretty soon, isn't it. Wish I could slip in and be part of your family for awhile--sounds so fun.

It is pretty hot here. Luckily the path I take is pretty shady. And If I go early enough, it's not too bad.

You can totally do it! It is great to have big goals. Setting small, more realistic goals is for whimps. I have been walking a lot too. (per doc's orders) and I feel very tired and sore. But I am hangin in there. It helps that it is not too hot here and the park I walk at is shady too. So "just keep swimming." Eventually you'll get there, even if it isn't the "there" you planned on!

Good for you, nothing beats just taking off for a while, even if it is to excercise. Maybe if you lived closer we could walk together.......................
